Start with the input your shot needs
Choose Kling 3.0 when your brief starts from text or one composed opening image and the 720p output tier fits the job. Choose MiniMax H3 when you need several still images to describe a product, character or setting, or want the 768P tier at its current lower credit charge. These are workflow recommendations, not a measured quality ranking. The useful question is which controls match the shot you can actually describe.
According to Kuaishou, native audio is part of the Kling 3.0 series. According to MiniMax, H3 also generates video with native sound. Those statements provide model background; the table below describes SeaDance specifically. Broader vendor output tiers are not available on SeaDance. Neither a vendor showcase nor a familiar model name should replace checking the settings in the generation form.
| SeaDance setting | Kling 3.0 | MiniMax H3 |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 720p, 16:9 | 768P, 16:9 |
| Duration | 5, 10 or 15 seconds | 5, 10 or 15 seconds |
| Text to Video | Supported | Supported |
| Image to Video | Exactly 1 first frame | 1–2 images; first then optional last |
| Reference mode | Not available on SeaDance | 1–9 still images |
| Sound | Included; live generation keeps it on | Included; always generated |
Read the whole-clip price
The figures below quote one generated video with sound. Text-only and frame-based requests use these base prices; the H3 reference surcharge is discussed separately. Credits are rounded for the whole request. Do not multiply an already rounded short-clip price to predict a longer one, because the rounding boundary can change. A larger resolution number also does not establish that one model will follow your product brief more accurately.
| Model | 5 seconds | 10 seconds | 15 seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0 | 13 credits / $2.61 | 26 credits / $5.22 | 38 credits / $7.63 |
| MiniMax H3 | 9 credits / $1.81 | 17 credits / $3.41 | 25 credits / $5.02 |
All generation dollar estimates allocate prepaid credits at Basic monthly: $29.90 divided by 149 credits, approximately $0.200671 per credit. They are rounded to cents after calculating the whole request. They are not separate checkout prices. Other plans have slightly different purchase rates; compare the pricing page before purchasing. New accounts start with 0 credits.
First and last frames answer a different question
An opening frame is useful when the composition already exists: a bottle on a shelf, a shoe on a pedestal, or a presenter beside a product. In Image to Video, describe the movement that should happen after that image. Kling accepts that single starting frame here. Its broader vendor reference capabilities are not available on SeaDance, so do not plan a Kling request around separate product-angle uploads.
H3 accepts an optional second frame after the first. Treat it as the intended ending arrangement, rather than another unrelated product photo. Keep the product identity, lighting and environment compatible between the endpoints. Widely different framing or product states can leave the model a difficult transition to invent. If your images are different views of an object rather than chronological endpoints, H3 Reference mode is the more suitable place to supply them.
Budget for H3 reference images
H3 Reference mode includes the first 5 still images without an extra reference charge. Additional images add $0.04 each to the underlying calculation before the request is converted into credits. This is a calculation input, not the retail cash surcharge. For a 10-second request, 5 images cost 17 credits / $3.41; 9 images cost 20 credits / $4.01. Frame inputs have no reference surcharge.
Include only images that add a useful constraint. A clean overall view and a detail may communicate more than several nearly identical pictures. Label their roles in ordinary language, such as “use the product in image 1 and the counter arrangement in image 2.” This is a creative instruction, not a guarantee that every feature will be reproduced. Inspect the result before using it to represent a real item.
Match the model to a practical brief
For a tabletop reveal with one approved hero image, Kling is suitable when its first-frame control and output tier match the delivery. For a product demonstration that combines a front view, an alternate angle and a setting photo, H3 is suitable because Reference mode can carry those visual constraints together. For a planned opening and closing composition, use H3 with first and last frames. If neither an image nor a layout has been approved, begin with a simple text-led shot.
Both choices generate sound here. If your intended placement will be silent, evaluate whether the visual action makes sense without listening; there is no lower-priced silent generation option offered in this comparison. Request a restrained sound scene when speech is unnecessary. Review any generated words, product claims and incidental background sounds before distributing the clip. A successful generation is an output to assess, not evidence of advertising performance.
Compare results without changing the brief
Keep the subject, action, duration and camera instruction consistent when comparing models. Use an input mode both choices support if you want to compare the same control setup. Comparing a Kling first-frame request with a heavily referenced H3 request may still answer a production question, but it does not isolate the model difference. Write down which product details must remain recognizable and judge those details against the source images.
If a request reaches a failed state, its deducted credits are returned. A successful backup generation retains the original quote. Save the job details if a balance or delivery question needs support, and consult the refund policy for purchase-level requests. A poor fit for a subjective creative preference should not be budgeted as an automatic cash refund.
Frequently asked questions
Which model supports several reference photos here?
MiniMax H3 supports 1–9 still images in Reference mode. Kling 3.0 has no Reference mode on SeaDance; its image-based workflow accepts exactly one first frame.
Can Kling use a last frame on SeaDance?
No. The current Kling image route accepts one starting image. H3 accepts a first image and an optional second ending image, in that upload order.
Is H3 always the better choice?
No universal quality ranking follows from these settings. H3 is suitable when its reference controls, output tier and current credit charge fit your particular brief.
Does sound cost extra in the displayed table?
Sound is included in every quoted request. SeaDance keeps sound enabled for Kling and always generates it for H3, so the table does not describe a silent discount.
Does uploading more photos always help?
No. Each photo should have a clear role. Conflicting views, changing packaging or unrelated styles can make the intended product identity less clear.
